Work Experience
I worked for 34 years as the senior therapist, intern supervisor, and later consultant, at the Lloyd Center Counseling Service in Marin, associated with the San Francisco Theological Seminary. Prior to that I worked at various times in an inner city psychotherapy clinic in San Francisco, at an out-patient psychiatric hospital in Marin, and as a group therapist with inmates in San Quentin Prison. During this entire time I also maintained a private practice.
Prior to my work as a therapist, I had a variety of jobs in my twenties, including moving furniture, working as a newspaper reporter, and working as a community organizer with the Federal Poverty Program.
